ERIC CRESS
Before joining Urban Development Partners, Eric worked as a project
manager for Pacific Bay Investments, LLC. Eric managed the entitlement
and development of 60,000 square feet of residential mixed-use properties
in downtown Oakland and Berkeley. Eric has a strong interest in transit-oriented,
mixed-use urban development and aspires to develop projects that make
cities more family-friendly and environmentally sustainable.
Eric previously worked as a project manager for several integrated circuit
design companies including Cypress Semiconductor, Leapfrog Toys, and
Maple Optical Systems. He also worked as a researcher in deep-submicron
circuit design for the National Science Foundation’s Engineering
Research Center in Starkville, Mississippi. Eric holds eight patents
for integrated circuit designs and has published several papers on the
application of integrated circuits in data communications systems.
Eric has a Masters in Business Administration with a focus in real estate
finance and development from the Haas School of Business at UC Berkeley.
He also has MS and BS degrees in electrical engineering from Mississippi
State University. Eric has served on the governing board of the Berkeley
Real Estate Alumni Association and on the project review committee of
Livable Berkeley, a pro-Smart Growth, non-profit organization.
